Skills and Requirements

  • DEC in industrial electronics or DEC in instrumentation and automation;
  • Must hold, or be in the process of obtaining, a C license;
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience in designing or modifying automated system plans;
  • Experience in troubleshooting on production lines;
  • Knowledge of automates: Allen Bradley and Siemens S5-S7;
  • Knowledge of variable speed drives: Powerflex, Lenze and Télémécanique;
  • Knowledge of computer software: Excel, Word and Outlook;
  • Excellent command of French (oral and written) and good knowledge of English (oral and written);
  • Must be resourceful and possess good organizational skills and team spirit.

Reporting to the director of mechanical and electrical maintenance, the electronics technician will participate and perform repairs on production machines. He will work on electronic projects on equipment.

  • Inspect and examine machinery for faults;
  • Test, repair or replace faulty wiring, motors, components or other electrical devices in the electrical switchgear;
  • Locate and determine cause of electrical faults;
  • Checks malfunctioning equipment using test equipment;
  • Dismantle, repair, reassemble and test electrical equipment and installations;
  • Analyze, check and repair electrical and/or electronic equipment, circuits and controls as required;
  • Install and fabricate electrical components of new machines and/or equipment as required;
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and other instructions;
  • Perform measurements using appropriate instruments;
  • Filling out self-check sheets and/or daily activity reports;
  • As needed, participate in all other related tasks.
