Skills and Requirements

  • DEC in transportation logistics and/or AEC in operations and production management or a combination of experience and/or training deemed equivalent;
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in a comparable position;
  • Availability for three shifts (day, evening and night);
  • Supervisory experience in a unionized environment;
  • Leadership;
  • Knowledge of transportation laws and regulations;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Knowledge of ISAAC Instruments (an asset);
  • Oral and written communication skills;
  • Team player;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Ability to solve problems.

Reporting to the Shipping and Building Manager, you will be responsible for:

Replacement foreman

  • Fill in for the Shipping Foremen during their annual vacation, as well as the Fleet and Building Maintenance Coordinator;
  • Ensure the application of the collective agreement;
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations;
  • Manage discipline;
  • Any other related duties.

Assistant to the Shipping and Building Manager

  • Verify safety patrol reports and hours of service of truck drivers in ISAAC software;
  • Verify trip sheets and fuel consumption of IFTA licensed trucks;
  • Handle customer complaints, research and analyze them, and implement corrective measures;
  • Manage truckers’ vacation requests and vacations;
  • Participate in the taking of inventories;
  • Manage the purchase orders for the building and others using the I.T. Guide;
  • Manage the inventory of pallets and maintain an adequate inventory;
  • Support the building coordinator in his daily tasks;
  • Any other related duties.
